This piece was written, recorded, produced, and mixed by Luke Puglisi.This is an auditory representation of an immigration story written about by Valeria Luiselli in her book, Tell Me How It Ends. There are quotation marks around the name Manu because this piece is meant to illustrate more than just the struggles of one person. Although some details in this song are specific to Manu, this piece is meant to symbolize the struggles that most young immigrants are faced with on their journey to the U.S.

This piece was written and mixed by Luke Piece. It can be heard here being performed by a quartet directed by Dave Douglas.

Scoring

This piece was scored, produced, and mixed by Luke Puglisi during his study at The New School. The recording consists of mostly virtual instruments. Live recordings include timpani, bass drum, and a small string section that was blended with virtual instrument strings.

The following two songs were recorded remotely by each musician. The recordings were of poor quality and problematic, but I was able to restore the audio and mix the projects in a way that made them sound cohesive and professional.
